'The Shattered Mirror', was due to be the second single from the 'This Quiet Earth' album in 1998. The track was re-recorded for the project, but instead became part of the original 2CD version. Here, we have remixed the album version, which better represents the original track. Also included is a new remix of the USA single version of 'Subversion lll', 2 exclusive tracks form the 'This Quiet Earth' USB boxset, and an extended version of 'The Shattered Mirror'. This exclusive release , was put together to celebrate the digital release of the album on bandcamp.

I like the subtle way in which the tracks connect to the album cover, making this resting maiden the center point — calm in the midst of storm. (Just my interpretation maybe but the cover gives extra depth to the music... a softer undertone). The image reminds me of ‘Annunciation’ by Dante G. Rossetti used in ‘Adrenaline’ music video. ‘Smoke and Mirrors’ puts me at peace with big disappointments — a bittersweet musical potion. nicabreeze
